Who We Are
BYU Visiting Students is a program within BYU Continuing Education. We help people who need BYU courses but aren't pursuing a BYU degree to access the classes, faculty, and campus resources they need.
Our courses are taken on campus, either in Provo or at the BYU Salt Lake Center. We're here to help you prepare for graduate school, explore a new career, or get you into that class you've always wanted to take because you love learning. Whatever the reason, we're here to make it possible.
Who We Help
BYU Visiting Students is built for people who've already earned a bachelor's degree and need specific courses to move forward. Whether you're preparing for medical school, pivoting careers, or pursuing a personal passion, we're here to help.

For grads who need specific courses, often prerequisites for graduate school, career advancement, or personal enrichment.

Students enrolled at other universities who want to take courses at BYU and transfer the credit back.

Learners who want to attend classes without grades, tests, or credit, just for the joy of learning.

High school juniors and seniors with strong academic records who want to earn college credit early.

Our Approach
Your situation probably isn't as unique as it feels.
Over 70 years of helping visiting students has taught us that even the most unique circumstances have solutions. Our advisors have seen it all: complicated timelines, missed deadlines, and unusual situations. They know how to help you find a path forward.
We emphasize flexibility, working with students in all kinds of circumstances. And, we keep it simple: a straightforward application, advisors who actually help, and access to everything that makes BYU special.
