Common Questions About Advising
Do I need an appointment, or can I just call?

Both work. For complex questions or course planning, we recommend scheduling an appointment. For quick questions, a call or email is fine.

Can I talk to an advisor before I apply?

Absolutely. Many students talk to an advisor first to make sure this program is right for them before starting the application.

What should I bring to my appointment?

If you have specific course requirements from a graduate program or employer, bring those. Otherwise, just come with your questions.

How long does an advising appointment take?

Plan for about 30 minutes, though some conversations are shorter and some are longer depending on your needs.

Can I meet with an advisor remotely?

Yes. We offer phone and video appointments in addition to in-person meetings.
